Bowling: Beginners' tips for the perfect throw

I started bowling when I was 7 years old, I'm 38 now and I've bowled in many different cities

in the United States. I carry a 201 average and I also bowled a perfect 300 and a 297 games.

When I'm approached by somebody whom wants to learn to bowl, I first ask them to throw a

couple ball for I can see their technique. After I see how they throw, I walk them through

some basic steps.

1. Finding a ball that fits them comfortably ( if you can afford your own
ball, a pro shop employee will fit your hand for the proper fit) bowling shoes

are a gimme and again if you can afford shoes and pro shop employee can help.

2. Learning how the ball works or rolls. I put the ball on the lane and
slowly roll the ball to the person, so they can see how his/her ball is
rolling.

3. After they understand how the ball is going to roll, I ask them to hold
out their bowling hand as they were going to shake my hand, then ask them
to rotate their forearm to the inside. This will cause your ball to
rotate toward the pins.

4. I have them look down the lane and point out the arrows and the boards on
the lanes. Explain how important each one is. These are you focus marks
which are where you throw your ball every time. These marks will move due
to lane conditions, but these are issues that they will overcome as they
improve.

5.Now we need to learn how to walk towards the pin without crossing over the foul
line. There are many different styles, but I prefer the 3 step and slide
approach.

6. If you are Right-handed you will start with Right foot first, then Left, then
Right, then Slide with your Left foot,This will seem a little strange at first,
but you will get used to it.

7. After you get the foot work down, now we need to learn how to put the arm swing
with the foot work together. Now pick up your ball and put your fingers in the
ball, making sure that it's not to tight or loose, holding the ball about at
your hip.As you take your first step, push the ball out from your body and let
it swing back, not to far that it knocks you off balance, just about at your
hip.Don't worry about that big back swing that you see others do, you'll
learn your own techniques with practice. At this time you should be at your
second step and third step. Your ball is going come back toward the lane, this
is where you finish your third step and lean down, so you ball can reach the
floor. As the ball is about at your knee you should be sliding and releasing the
ball, with that rotation of the forearm at the second arrow from the gutter.

This is a lot to figure out, but with a lot of practice you can bowling the perfect game also.

Bowling can be a fun game to enjoy with your friend on a night out or you can join a league.

There are league every where and many people who are willing help you become a better bowler.

Well Good Luck and "KEEP ON STRIKING"
