As a wife, and mother, concern is natural when it comes to the health and well-being of your family and self. The common reaction of Americans today is to rush to the doctor or drug store when a medical condition arises. Society and doctors have led us to believe that the only way to remedy anything from minor aches and pains to serious health conditions is with pharmaceuticals. Of course, seeing a doctor is not discouraged, but there are also all natural cures readily available without the use of prescription or OTC drugs.
There are tons of conditions that people encounter everyday, that can be solved using items that are already in your kitchen. We have come to depend on drugs for all of our medical needs, despite of the fact that for centuries natural remedies have been widely used. Asthma, Migraines, Insomnia, High Blood Pressure, and Urinary Tract Infections are just a few examples of common ailments that can be solved naturally.
Asthma: If a jar of honey is held under the nose during an Asthma attack, the small amount of air inhaled, that has come in contact with the honey, allows the patient to take deeper and easier breaths.
Migraines: It is found that drinking the juice of freshly ground, ripe grapes can provide migraine relief; no water should be added to the juice.
Insomnia: Patients suffering from Insomnia should drink a glass of milk, sweetened with honey each night before going to bed. Contrary to popular belief, the milk does not have to be warm. This mixture is relaxing and acts as a tranquilizer.
High Blood Pressure: Garlic is known to slow down the pulse rate, alter the heart rhythm and reduce spasms in the small arteries. In addition, it relieves the associated dizziness, numbness, shortness of breath, and gas buildup in the digestive tract. It may be taken in the form of raw cloves or two to three capsules a day.
Urinary Tract Infection: A great remedy to fight this infection is cranberry juice, which prevents bacteria from clinging to the cells in the urinary tract. The cranberry juice can be mixed with another juice, if desired, for easier consumption. Echinacea is an alternative method of treatment, which comes in capsule form and should be taken a few times a day.
This is only a minute example of the many cures that are natural and proven effective. Medication will never be obsolete, however, a great percentage of society is unaware that there are safe, easy, do-it-yourself methods of treatment for nearly any condition imaginable. Its almost inconceivable that most of us do not have this knowledge and submit ourselves to the sometimes dangerous side effects of pharmaceuticals. So, when the health and wellness of your family is concerned, consider the fact that it isn't always necessary to approach medical problems in the traditional manner, which in turn, can be hugely beneficial to their health.
