The amount of food that he or she eats is just sufficient to maintain the weight with whatever exercise or physical work he or she does. That balance is OK if the weight is not excessive. Unfortunately, excessive weight has serious adverse consequences such as high blood pressure and susceptibility to other diseases like diabetes. Moreover too much weight is itself wearing on the body and its organs. Excessive weight shortens your life.
