Sailors would sleep with the gem beneath their pillows to ensure them good sleep at Sea, and safe travel. They also associated the color with that of a mermaid's tail. Found mainly in Brazil, Nigeria, Madagascar, Zambia, Pakistan, and Mozambique. It is also the state gem of Colorado.
~April-Diamond "A diamond gives victory to him who carries it bound on his left arm, no matter the number of enemies", one reason that the diamond is believed to own supernatural powers. It is said to ward off insanity, panics, and enchantments. Diamonds, in history, have had many symbolic meanings, because of their hardness. Kings were said to have possessed several colors of the stones at once, not allowing other royalty to own such beautiful displays. ~May-Emerald's are associated with fertility and joy, and given unto the greenest month, that of May. They are said to have clarity and sharpen the mind. Originally mined by the Egyptians, the Emerald is rare and valuable, especially the darker and clearer the color. The Emerald has also the legend that it was among the twelve stone's in Aaron's breastplate (the twelfth or Beryl), representing the tribe of Judah. Also known as a 55th anniversary gift for marriages.
~June-Pearl. The purity and joy of the beautiful Pearl graces those born in June. A metaphor for all things rare, fine and admirable, the Pearl is a simple gem achieved within a shelled mollusk, or clam. Stitched into clothing, crushed into powders for it's iridescence and beauty, and cultivated by farms for jewelry makers around the world, the natural Pearl is unique to the sea.
