Addiction to energy drinks

In the last 5 years we have seen the world become a more fast moving society. We go from place to place with no regard to how our body feels. For the longest time everyone's choice for a quick pick me up was to have a cup of coffee. However, the younger generations who are not coffee drinkers have taken to energy drinks to get them going and keep them going through out the day. There has been an on going debate for years regarding caffeine and whether it is a drug or not. I for one believe that it is a drug and at certain times can be a dangerous and even deadly at times. Today's energy drinks are filled with caffeine and they do give you a boost of energy but at what cost? It is my contention that this could lead to the use of stronger stimulates. I have used a variety of the energy drinks on the market and I can with out a doubt feel the difference once they get into my system. So in my mind there is no question that they do work. It would not take long for someone to get hooked on that extra bit of energy they get from having an energy drink and this could lead to wanting more of that feeling. I am a realist and I do believe if this happens it would be in a small percentage of people. However, it is not out of the question that this caffeine high could lead to taking more powerful stimulates. Meth users are addicted to the feeling of unlimited energy and the ability to keep going for hours and sometimes even days. In most cases many meth users did not start out using meth but some form of gateway drug. Many start out using over the counter caffeine pills which leads to the use of stronger stimulates. While this is not true with everyone in some cases there is no question that energy drinks used in an abusing manner could lead to the use of stronger drugs. Keep in mind that everything can become bad for you if misused. This is only meant as a warning to those who use them on a daily basis. It might be a good idea to try a healthier alternative a few times a week. Many find that a healthy breakfast is good way to start your day and will give you the added energy needed to get you to lunch.
