'Britney Spears married an axe murderer and gave birth to a little Green Alien named Fred'.
OK, not strictly true, but then who's to say that the mountains of headlines printed recently about Britney are. She's become the perfect tabloid victim, all at the expense of her health, her family and her career, and I care! It's a shame the Paparazzi cant say the same thing, or the story hungry reporters, or the leeches that follow her every move. Its blatantly obvious they don't care, as long as they get the story and the dollars that they're sure to receive by printing it.
For all those who say Britney brought it all on herself by being in the profession she is, or that she craves the attention she receives, are you all not forgetting that sheis been in the business since she was a child. She didn't put herself there, a mixture of pushy showbiz parenting, over zealous managers and over competitive agents made sure by the time Britney went from girl to woman the whole World knew her name.
She had no choice then, the monster was born, and even if at 21 Britney decided she'd had enough do you really think she'd of been left alone to live her life? Do you really think she'd of been able to take a job at the local McDonald's without the press appearing with their cameras for a big mac and a story?
Recent tales, if true, have shown us that Britney is going through the worst time. Her mental state (and physical state but that's a whole other point) have come into question, we know she's spent time with psychiatrists, we know she has problems, much deeper than anyone thought a few months ago, yet the press still wont leave her alone.
We also know she's recently lost her children, now everyone, all you mothers out there, forget that she's Britney Spears, forget all the stories you've read, just put yourself in her shoes for 2 minutes and imagine how that must of affected her. Imagine that your waster boyfriend, who himself wasn't a popular target for the press, who used you in the first place, who has used your name to further his career, who has got away with not being asked for drug or alcohol tests, who has gone out of his way to sell you out, now has full custody of your children.
As far as her career is concerned, I don't care. I don't care if she never releases another song, I don't care that she did an outlandish performance at the MTV awards, I don't care that she put on a little bit of weight, was slated for it even though she was still smaller than the average American I don't care.
What I do care about is that we are all watching a public figure deteriorating before our eyes, we are watching mental and emotional breakdowns step by step, we are watching a very disturbed Britney go through the toughest time of her life, and too many people are relishing the stories. She needs to be left alone to sort out her life, to get better, and be well for her kids. That's what I care about.
