Mother's Day is one of the holidays where you have to get a gift. You have to pick out things for your mother to show how much you care. However, it isn't always easy to figure out the best gift to give your mom. A Mother's Day gift basket can help make your job easier. You can provide a variety of things so that she will find something she likes.

For the Sweet Tooth Mom

For that mom with a sweet tooth you can get a gift basket and fill it with yummy treats. You can add chocolates, cookies, and other yummy treats to the basket and decorate it for the special occasion. If you use a square or rectangle basket without a handle she is more likely to find a purpose for the basket as well as enjoying all of the yummy treats inside it.

For the Artsy Crafty Mom
If you mom is into a specific art or craft you can get tools and gifts related to her craft. You can fill the basket with these things which she is bound to enjoy. You can then decorate the basket and give a great gift of love.

For the Cooking Mom
For the mom who enjoys the kitchen you can fill a basket with kitchen items. Choose unique gadgets that you find. Add a good cook book. Maybe a new pot holder or two and a matching towel. Give her another reason to get in the kitchen and enjoy whipping something up. This is a great gift for the mom that loves to cook and a really bad one for the mom who hates it. If you aren't sure, skip this idea!

Make Your Own Relaxing Basket
All mom's deserve to have a relaxing time. You can make up your own gift basket complete with an at home spa treatment, bubble bath supplies, or at home manicure and pedicure tools. These allow you to pick out exactly what you think she would like and you can decorate your own basket and have a great time!

Penzey's
Penzey's is a spice company and they have the greatest spices. Their gift sets are a bit pricey and don't let you pick out exactly what you want. However, you can pick out what you want and make your own basket. I recommend getting a small bag of sugar (from the store) and then getting dutch process cocoa, cinnamon, and maybe cinnamon sticks so that you can make your own hot cocoa basket. This makes a great hot cocoa, but I wouldn't recommend Penzey's pre-mixed hot cocoa mix. You can also do other theme based spices and herbs.

Making a gift basket can be a lot of fun. You can decorate it with paint, ribbons, and other items. You can even add small versions of what you are putting in the basket as decoration (such as candies attached with ribbon or tooling, or measuring spoons attached with ribbon). When you are done you can present it as a gift like this or you can wrap it in cellophane. This can be particularly lovely with colored cellophane. The new colored saran wrap works as well. Have fun and give the gift of love in a basket!
