The word "foodie" is older than the internet: the informal term was coined in 1984 by The Official Foodie Handbook. Since its invention the internet has affected food. Today the internet provides a plethora of recipes, e-cookbooks, restaurant menus, online ordering and reviews. The internet has been marinating with food for almost two decades providing some delicious and generous results. A search on www.google.com for the word "food" resulted in 1,240,000,000 different web sites dedicated to what foodies live for: FOOD! The search only took .13 seconds. How is that for prep time?
The number one page on the internet for "food" is www.foodnetwork.com. The show's site is devoted to all things food and promises a recipe for every occasion!
