The Case for George Bush:

Little did George W. Bush know that the struggle to win the 2000 presidential election was only a shadow of bigger battles to come. The most devastating assault on the United States since Pearl Harbor was about to take us all by surprise. The attack that had been planned during another's watch was about to be executed on his.

Most Americans were proud of the way President Bush stood up on the behalf of U.S. citizens and the families who suffered the loss of loved ones. With loud a voice, he expressed what we felt as nation for the unprovoked attack on 9/11. He promised that those responsible would answer for their actions and so would those who harbored and supported them. As far as we were concerned, a sympathizer of Al Qaeda was as guilty of murder as those for crashing our commercial jets into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon; and would have possibly crashed another into the White House had it not been for the unselfish bravery of passengers who willingly sacrificed their lives to save others by forcing it down in a Pennsylvania field.

As President Bush boldly proclaimed, "Justice was coming," and Americans replied nearly in unison with a whole-hearted,"YEAH!" When he said we would not wait for another attack, but would bring the fight to them, America replied, "Yeah. Let's go get em!" We were proud of someone so willing to stand up without apology for justice. Afghanistan was a hot-bed for Al Qaeda with a presence in its surrounding nations, such as, Pakistan and Iraq; so, our military headed for Afghanistan to take on Al Qaeda and the Tali-ban who were supporters of Al Qaeda. It was while we were fighting Al Qaeda and the Taliban when a report came to the President that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.

Saddam Hussein had a history of developing weapons of mass destruction for use and was willing to test them on his own people. As a tyrannical dictator, he had reservation to exterminate anyone at his whim. As cruel as he was, his two sons were even worse. Besides tortures, rapes, and executions, was the documented fact that Saddam had used chemical weapons to kill thousands of his own countrymen. So, now we had Intel that he had the capabilities of mass destruction. Whether a chemical weapon or a dirty nuke of some kind, our military was next door and subject to a potential attack.

Now, President Bush had a decision make: disregard the information or act on it. Had Bush not done anything about the information and our military
