Ways to eliminate nausea during pregnancy

Remember the days when you were on the bathroom floor with your face over the toilet? You were holding your hair back and just thinking that you would rather die than deal with the nausea and sickness you were going through? I am not talking about the hangovers when you were in college. I am talking about that wonderful first trimester when you are newly pregnant.

Pregnancy is tough. It is the most beautiful thing in the world, yet it can wreak havoc on your body for nine months. Some women breeze through the whole pregnancy with hardly any symptoms, yet others are nausaus and sick from the time the line turns pink on the pregnancy test.

The most common symptom of pregnancy is nausea. This occurs because of the extra hormones in the womans body and the many changes going on in her body. So how can you go from kissing the toilet to living life during pregnancy? Don't fret; there are ways to subdue and practically eliminate the nauseas feeling while you are pregnant.

SALTINES
Yes this is the most common snack for most women during pregnancy. Eating simple snacks such as crackers, mixed nuts, or dry cereal (cheerios), can really help control the sick feeling in your stomach. This will also help to keep your blood sugar at a reasonable level since during pregnancy, it is likely to drop really low many times. Keep snacks with you at all times. Also keep some by your bed and eat small snack before getting out of bed in the morning.

SKIP THE BIG MEALS
Instead of eating huge meals three times a day, eat smaller meals about six times per day. Remember, you have to increase your calorie count during pregnancy so now is not the time to worry about that diet you were working on. Make sure you skip foods and snacks with empty calories and eat healthier meals with nutrients that your body actually needs. Also make sure to eat before hunger strikes. If you wait, then chances are your blood sugar is already at its low point and you may feel ill already.

TAKE YOUR PRENATAL VITAMINS
Every woman should be taking a prenatal vitamin and an increased amount of folic acid. However for most women, the vitamins make them feel like they want to puke. Instead of taking the vitamin in the morning when you wake up, take it before bedtime. Eat a small snack of crackers and water and follow it with your vitamin. Taking it in the morning on a virtually empty stomach is what makes you feel sick, however if you take the vitamin at night, after you have been eating all day, then your body can handle
