A digital camera is more than just a toy. It's a device that permits them to be creative and keep a photographic diary of their lives.

With the range of digital cameras on the market, there should be little problem finding one suitable for your child. Kids today have no problem with technology and even young children can handle gadgets sometimes better than their parents.

The age of your child will probably determine the type of digital camera you buy for them. For the very young, there are basic kiddie type cameras that let them have all the fun they want, and because they are relatively inexpensive, you don't have to worry too much if it should ever get lost or broken.

They don't want to fiddle around with settings to any great extent. So the simpler, the better.

Give the kids a basic, inexpensive digital camera and it will give them hours, days, weeks, even years of fun capturing memories they can look back on when they get older. The time will come when they can step up to a better model.

A personal digital camera gives kids the freedom to express themselves and get creative with their own piece of equipment. A camera will add to the enjoyment they find on vacations, outings with family and friends, attending sports events and just in everyday life.

Yes, a digital camera is a great gift for kids, one that can be bought at a reasonable cost and with a wide range of models to suit even the very young.
