If you were to argue that this was a bad move for the Giants you're a fool. Not only did Eli Manning take his team into the playoffs as the huge underdog and knock everyone off in front of them to get into the super bowl, but they also beat the unbeaten (at the time) New England Patriots in the super bowl (the team that everyone thought was going to win the super bowl by a long shot). Without Eli, they couldn't have beaten the Patriots. The final drive of the super bowl where Eli took his team all the way down the field and then scored to take the lead will always be remembered as one of the greatest drives in super bowl, if not NFL history. Look at Rivers, he made the poor decision to play with a severe injury and now he is out for what 6 months! Stupid! Eli is a leader just like his brother and father, and he will be a great QB for years to come. Oh and did anyone mention that the Giants were without one of there best players with the best hands on the team, Shockey!

Now for the facts! Eli only threw one interception in the post season, compared to Rivers four, and he played in less games than Eli. Now I'm not a mathematician or anything but I believe Eli threw less interceptions in more games. He (Eli) was also under pressure more than Rivers. Eli was sacked a total of nine times in the post season, Rivers was only sacked twice, and look at him now, injured. Eli is much stronger and better than Rivers. As far as QB ratings go, Manning almost had a 10 point advantage over Rivers with a 95.7. The Chargers are kicking themselves right now for first of all getting rid of Drew Brees and then getting rid of what could have been their franchise QB Eli Manning.

All of the facts and opinions above are just their to state that the Giants got the good end of the deal by having a QB that is calm and makes good decisions. Rivers is just a cocky QB, don't get me wrong though he has talent, just he needs to show everyone he can use it and win games not only in the regular season, but also in the post season. I mean if you have the last name Manning and your brother has the first name Payton and your dad's name is Archie, I'm pretty sure you will become one of the best out their. Good call with this one Chargers.
