Anti-aging skin care treatments

by cbm

There comes a day in every woman's life that she realizes that she is looking and feeling old. Aging is not just a result of wear and tear, it is also genetics. Skin ages all over the body, but much more where there has been long term sun exposure, also called photo aging. Some factors are beyond our control but some we can take preventative measures and minimize or slow the aging process of our skin, and they include:

-Using a sunscreen with a SPF of 30 or higher
-Wearing protective clothing
-Drinking plenty of water
-Exercising daily that consists of cardio and resistance training
-Eating a well balanced diet to include omega 3
-Taking a daily multivitamin
-Not smoking
-Reducing stress

Unfortunately, it is much later in our life, late thirties, early forties that we see and realize the effects and the damage we caused our skin to prematurely age and now we need to correct or reverse this damage. This damage starts showing on our face, neck, and decollete. This damage includes dryness, sagginess, skin growths like liver or brown spots, and wrinkles. Luckily, we have many products, machines, and professionals to help us look more youthful and recapture that once youthful glow.

So where does this leave us since we have yet to locate the fountain of youth? Beyond just a handful of the preventative measures above, there are many things we can do with beauty products and salon/doctor services to prevent early signs of aging.

First we should ask ourselves why is a skin care method so important? Because whatever product or service that you utilize to correct and then maintain your skin on your face, neck, and decollete should be part of your daily, weekly or monthly program in order to achieve and to continue to achieve the desired results.

Let's first start with at-home products because there are many over the counter at-home products for all skin types. Every 21-28 days skin cells are sloughed off and replaced with newer cells, exfoliation, a natural process of the skin. Masks and scrubs assist this natural process. There are different types of exfoliants used in these masks and scrubs that include ground nuts and microcrystals. Microcrystals are much smaller in size to that of a scrub that contains ground nuts. Microcrystals are preferred because they are gentler on your skin. Fruit acid exfoliants dissolve the cellular glue that holds the skin cells together to reveal newer and fresher cells. Enzymatic exfoliants digest dead skin cells and is the most gentle form
