THE RIGHT WAY TO WASH YOUR HAIR
Contrary to popular belief, it is not always a good idea to wash your hair on a daily basis. It all depends, of course, on the type of hair you have. You need to evaluate your hair type before determining the type of hair care you can most benefit from.
DRY HAIR
If your hair is curly, it is likely to be dry. This means that your hair has fewer oils in it than someone with normal or oily hair. Your hair will most likely have considerable breakage, have some frizz, and will actually feel dry on your fingertips. Some people recommend that someone with dry hair should shampoo only once or twice a week.
This, of course, depends on what your lifestyle is like. For example, if you have an indoor job where you do not sweat a lot, then you can probably get away with only a couple of shampoos a week. However, if your job involves working outside or a lot of sweating, then once or twice a week will most likely not be enough. Regardless, you definitely do not want to wash dry hair more than four times a week. Perhaps every other time you can simply rinse out without using shampoo and then condition.
Make sure to choose a shampoo that will add moisture to your hair. Don't use an excessive amount, and please do not rinse and repeat' as the bottle sometimes suggests. It is unnecessary and a waste of product. Also, it is essential for you to use a deep conditioner as well. Find one that is specifically made for dry hair as it will be specially formulated for your hair needs. Focus on the scalp as well as the ends of your hair.
NORMAL HAIR
Normal hair feels soft to the touch and has the right amount of oils in it to make your hair manageable and shiny. There is no need to shampoo normal hair daily. Every other day would probably suffice. Again, take your lifestyle into consideration.
Choose a shampoo that is specifically made for normal hair. It will help your scalp maintain healthy levels of oils. Normal hair also benefits from a conditioner that is not too rich and is specifically made to fit your hair type needs. You want to use conditioner evenly throughout your entire head.
OILY HAIR
Oily hair looks wonderful when it is freshly washed and styled. Unfortunately, it quickly gets oily and makes your hair look dirty and stringy. This type of hair needs to be shampooed daily in order to help rid the hair and scalp of excess oils. Look for a shampoo made for oily hair as it will be a little stronger than a shampoo, say, for dry hair. Even though your hair
