Tips for finding ideas to help your writing

Tips for the English Class Success on Outline Process - -

Often, when one chooses what their passion is in life they may reflect on experiences from their past that related to their calling as comfortable tasks that they approached with ease. However, I cannot appreciate the apprehension of my creative values with writing. Why are we forced to commit ourselves to writing these drastic and extensive outlines to assist our papers? I recently received an 'f' on a paper that I had expected to ace, but the difference in my grade was accrued due to an outline. Yes, the grade plummeted from 85 to 65 because of indentation and extra sentences on an outline. The teacher even went as far as to write a note on the paper referring to how well it was written! This is when I discovered a pet peeve, embedded in a distant part of my mind, that I once had committed myself to ignoring.

I don't feel that our professors are attempting to stunt our growth as writers', I simply think that at times they can be extremely strict about trivial tasks. I have consoled my worry with this issue by following 3 simple rules when attempting to create an outline for English class:
1. Try not to dread the task
Even though it is trivial, do your best to embrace the idea of organizing your thoughts for yourself; not for the teacher
2. Jot down ideas
Usually, an outline is restricting by the requirements your teacher has made for it. Go beyond that! Let yourself free and write down any ideas you have, even if you can't find the proper place for those ideas on your outline.
3. Follow The format
Please do not make the same mistake I did. Make sure that you are clear about the guidelines for creating your outline. Don't be afraid to ask your teacher if they want you to type with bold print for the title, or even where your page numbers should be placed. It's important to make them happy by following their steps precisely.
It stinks to feel as if you are trapped with your writing, but you're never trapped. Just use these (and any other) trivial tasks as learning experiences for your next paper. With proper respect of the art, one can never fail as a writer.
