One thing the American public don't really know about the Beckhams is the amount they went through before they left the UK.

Contrary to what people may believe their careers hadn't gone as far as they could go, especially not Victoria's. Following the split of the Spice Girls back in 2001 she has struggled to branch out on her own, and the main thing she is now known for is being David's wife, Romeo, Brooklyn and Cruz's mother and the miserable one who used to be in the Spice Girls. Her attempt at a solo career was ill conceived, giving her one number 2 single, a couple of lower placed attempts and quite a lot of bad press.

David on the other hand at that time was at the peak of his career. In 2003 he transferred from Manchester United to Real Madrid in Spain. He was still captaining England's National team, and his advertising revenue was one of the highest in Europe.

Rumor has it is that it was around this time when David and Victoria were practically living in separate homes, in fact separate Countries. Its since then there still seems to be a lot of periods of time when the Beckhams are living apart.

It was in the first year when David was in Madrid that things started to unravel for the couple. While Victoria was still living in the UK with her children David conducted an alleged affair with his PA Rebecca Loos. A media frenzy followed, we could barely look at a Newspaper without seeing either of the Beckhams or the media craving wannabe Rebecca Loos, selling her soul for a few pounds.

David and Victoria put on a United front, but the story hungry press would not leave them alone, think Britney Spears only worse. Victoria eventually moved out to Madrid, spreading her time between her Hertfordshire home and their Spanish home. Then David quit as England's football captain, before being dropped altogether by then manager Steve McClaren. It may of been then that he lost favor with the England football supporters, a lot more can be forgiven when your leading your National football team out onto the pitch.

Then news of the move to LA came about in 2007. The press had a field day, gossip columnists went crazy, and the media frenzy of the Beckhams moving to LA began.

I don't think the Beckhams moved to the US to further their careers, more to boost their profiles, they had conquered Europe, they needed a new outlet. They needed the chance to reinvent themselves, to go back to the way they were before the extra marital affair, intense media scrutiny and failing careers threatened to tear them apart. This may of once been a marriage based on love but as time goes on it seems to be more and more about putting on a show for th worlds media.

Don't get me wrong they have 3 beautiful boys and a partnership most people can only dream about, but how much of it is real? If I decided to move out to LA would I suddenly make friends with the biggest A list celebrities? If I found out my husband was cheating (which she recently admitted to)would I smile at the press and deny anything ever happened. If David Beckham, a man who most people believe has everything, the perfect wife, the perfect family, then can it all be that perfect.

The truth of the matter is nobody knows if what we see is for real and unless your very close to the couple or they have a major public blow up, chances are none of us will ever know. All I am saying is that nobody's marriage is as perfect as the Beckhams appears to be, specifically the Beckhams, but good luck to them!
