When the Indians logo was made, the furthest item that came to mind was offending Native Americans. Now I have some Native American blood in me but to be honest I'm not offended at all. In fact, I'm fine with the logo. Why should it change because of some people who have nothing better to do in their lives than to whine and complain just for the sake of whining and complaining? Maybe I have a different view but I don't see how it's actually making fun of any members of a Tribe at all.
The Cleveland Indians logo has been in existence for many years. The fans of Cleveland have adapted to this as their symbol for the Indians. It's been there for years and to me it has never ever been a major issue. If it had been a problem in the past, it would have been dealt with at that time. The question I ask and I wonder to myself, why all of a sudden is this a problem?
This isn't the 1st time it has happened, as there have been other teams that have followed in that type of suit only for their logos to be left alone. The Washington Redskins were under the same issue but they got to keep their logo. What about the Blackhawks or Seminoles? If they were allowed to keep theirs, why can't the Tribe keep there's?
The reason there is a lot of complaining against these has to do with bitterness. Because those peoples lives are so bitter that the only way they can get any enjoyment is to ruin it for everyone else. Being bitter can cause some problems and could lead to radical changes. We've all ready had ridiculous whiners over the whole Christmas ordeal saying "Merry Christmas" and also the phrase with God in the Pledge of Allegiance but those are other stories for other times. These are prime examples of bitter people getting what they want even though they are a small portion of society that seems to have a lot of say and getting what they want. It just sickens me to hear these people who have nothing better to do in their lives than to just stir up problems that aren't even a necessity.
You could say this is more of a rant than anything else. It's just something that needs to put to rest and be left alone. The Tribe Logo is fine. Chief Wahoo is not a major problem as far as mascots go so leave it be and find something to actually enjoy instead of whining about it.
