This time again.
I walked through the woods that were only months ago abundant with delicate pinks and lovely greens of every shade, but were now blanketed in a thick white quilt that locked the cold inside. I looked to the horizon, in high hopes of finding who I was searching for, but found only vanilla hills sprinkled with dead shrubs and towering brown pines as far as the eye could see. My eyes then searched the ground until they fell upon prints in the snow. I lit up at the sight of the prints for they meant that who I was searching for was near. After deciding on following them, they led me under low branches, given up on reaching for the golden rays of the sun that seemed to barley dance along the horizon anymore, and over tree's like fallen heroes in battle.
Finally at long last, they led me to a mighty fall I was familiar with. As I entered the presence of the fall, snow began retreat in liquid form, plant life began to awaken from it's wintry slumber, tiny blossom faces peeked out of their peddles to see what had awakened them so early, and brown pine trees not to be out done by the infant flowers, returned to their natural green color to rejoice for spring. I stood and gazed in amazement as the foragers ventured out of their burrows and scurried off to begin the search for next winters food. Now standing at the edge of the water, I peered into the large mass before me, it seemed to mock the very reflection it returned. I dipped my toes into the water, sending the reflection away to far off shore lines inside the carriage of tiny ripples. Removing my feet from the water, I noticed it to be a perfect warm.
All was as it was meant to be, all except for one. My dear friend was nowhere within sight. This made little since to me, for it was he who brought us of the wood our early spring. With a sadness in my heart I lowered my head as if in defeat, just as I did I was plunged into the water. Furious, I surfaced to find who played the cruel joke. Then, our eyes met.
There he was, after a long winter wait. Merging from the water, I made my way to meet him. Kneeling down, and as gentle as a first kiss, I placed my hand upon his face. I ran my free hand along his neck, then through his mane. Then I threw both arms around his neck and placed my face close to his. The words, "I've missed you", softly whispered from my lips and made their way to caress his ears. Releasing from my hold, he threw his head back and kicked his front hooves into the air, as if to say
