Creativity is not a dying art

Living in the age of computers where most everything is done for you and ideas are everywhere it can make you feel like there are no good ideas left out there to have for yourself. Being creative at this point in time is left to taking other peoples ideas and tweaking them until they are slightly different so they arenow yours.

There is hope for the people that have a creative streak and come by ideas honestly and find out someone already had them. Though it is discouraging it doesn't mean that you are subliminally using someone elses idea it just means that someone beat you to it. If you thought of one good thing you can think of another. If you are focused on that particular idea then make it better. The benefit to you is that if it's already out there you can see how it was presented, see if there were any concerns and address them. If there were aspects that just didn't work change them and present it yourself.

Creativity is a gift that will never go away and will benefit you in many aspects of your life. It is not something that you should give up on if you have had a few bombing ideas or because you had any negatice input from the people around you. There is always at least one other person out there that feels the way you do about your idea and they may even be the one to help you bring other people around.

The largest complaint I have heard from people in the writeing and visual arts is a blocking of creativity some how. Mostly from people that don't focus soley on their chosen field of expression. When you have too many things in your head fighting for top billing many things can distract you or you may have seperating your ideas from the rest of the junk. Figure out you focusing vise. For me it's music in the back ground. Typically when i have more than one thing going on around me it helps me turn off the thoughts of everything else I have to do and lets me focus on what I want to do. If all else fails I go out and play with my dog for a while.

I don't think that creativity is a dying art I think the people that have the power to back it up are dwindling because it's getting hard to function in the world the way it is. There are so many other things to be worried about right now that people don't really have time to create things they're worried about how they're going to pay for gas to get to work so they can pay their bills.
