It is a complete fallacy that the best football managers were top class footballers or will
be born from the leading footballers in the game today.
The more we look at the best managers currently in the game, it becomes clear that although
many of the top managers in world and club football, played the game they never excelled
at a particularly high level in the sport. When pundits on radio and television use the argument that
that an individual can not understand because they have not played the game at the highest level.
We can look at such managers as . Jose Mourinho, Arsene Wenger, or the Portuguese national coach big Phil Scolari all played the game, but not at a particular high level and although some managers have, it is forgotten that it is the management and coaching ability not the footballing skill of the manager that is important.
