Valentines Day the Kids way! Kids enjoy craft projects of all kinds and Valentines Day is a great opportunity to let their creativity flow. Of course, there is always the stand by home-made card. Parent's love these. I myself, having grown children, have about 4 boxes full of such Valentines. The best are the one's the kids come up with themselves. I have one from my Son, now 28, created when he was about 4 or 5. It is a piece of paper, with a crayon drawn heart that reads; "I love you when I'm not in trouble." Of course, I also have one from the same Son from when he was 27, and broke, with his hand print and "I love you Mommy" written on the inside. (My Son has an offbeat sense of humor!)
With the information super highway so readily available, one only needs to go on-line to find some great ideas for the kids. No matter what the age, there are activities and projects to match. There are some really unique and creative ideas out there as well. After doing some research, I've come up with a few good sites with plenty of ideas to offer.

One idea I came across and wanted to share is the Valentine Friendship box. Have fun and Happy Valentines Day! Here are the instructions;
What you will need:
1 empty box, any size
Valentine themed wrapping paper or pink/red construction paper
Pink construction paper
White paper for poem
White craft glue
White ribbon
Scissors
Putting it together;
1. Wrap the empty box in wrapping paper or construction paper. Let the kids decorate
2. Tie white or red ribbon around the box and tie into a bow on the top.
3. Print out the poem below on white paper.
4. Trim the poem and glue the trimmed poem to pink construction paper.
5. Trim the pink construction paper to give it an even border all the way around.
6. Glue the poem to the box.
Friendship Box Poem
by Amanda Formaro:
Inside this fancy little box
I placed a gift so nice
You'll probably always cherish it
Not even thinking twice
Now even though this box I give
Holds nothing you can touch
I've placed inside our friendship
It's you I like so much!
