Why I use WinRAR

I am a writer, and for over 7 years now I have taken WinRAR with me wherever I go. It is on a USB-drive on my key chain along with some other vital utilities and my entire collection of everything I have ever written. I am writing new stories or articles all the time, and there is barely any free space on the drive even though each year I upgrade to a larger model. In addition to my writing, the drive also fills up with programs, pictures, sound recordings, videos, and ebooks. Invariably the space on the new drive will be filled up with data, and WinRAR comes to the rescue. Whether I need to quickly archive everything as tightly as possible to free up space temporarily, or if I need to extract install files for troubleshooting programs, WinRAR is there. I've also found it useful whenever I am at someone else's house and they don't have a compression utility. WinRAR is on many of my friends' computers because of me.

Of course, there are many different compression utilities, so why do I use WinRAR instead of something else? The answer is easy. My brother is one of those computer geniuses who gets paid insane amounts of money to install, set-up, and repair computers for large companies. He also runs a tech-support blog at techemperor.com. Of course, I'm not a computer idiot, but my knowledge of computers is nothing compared to that of my brother. I know how to fix most problems that come up, but whenever something happens that I can't handle, I know that he can fix it. He's the guy who gave me the first USB-drive. WinRAR was already on it because he uses it. In 7 years, I have not found a flaw in the program. The Tech Emperor says, "[I Rate it a] 9. Good shell integration, not very naggy if you don't register, opens every archive type I've ever tried. Small footprint." So I'll be using WinRAR for many years to come, and now that I've thought about how useful it has been to me, I've decided to register my copy.

So if anyone is looking for a reliable compression utility that will never let them down, I would certainly recommend WinRAR. If you find that you use it often, then don't wait 7 years like I did before registering. Register your copy right away so that you don't forget.
