the clock ticks away in my ears
scarring the silence that's bored me to tears
no one is calling, no emails to read
something to do is what I need
I try the television, my patience gone
two hundred channels, nothing is on
I try a book, I look at the spines
I've read every one, at least ten times
I call my friends, I get the machine
maybe a movie? Nothing I've not seen
Just when I think I will start to weep
I get back into bed, and bore myself to sleep
