Best digital cameras for kids

When buying a digital camera for your child there are several things to consider. First, the age of the child, how the camera will be used, features needed in a camera and most importantly how much you want to spend on a camera. There are so many digital cameras available for children let's narrow our choices down by age.

Age 2 to 5 years old.
The Fisher Price Kids Tough digital camera is a good choice. This camera is tough and will hold up the unpredictability and roughness of your toddler and preschooler. It offers two eye viewing which means your two year old can keep both eyes open while taking that unforgettable snapshot.

Age 5 to 8 years old.
The Disney Pic Clic is perfect for your elementary school age child. It comes in different colors and styles from Princess to Pirates of the Caribbean. The cameras are easy to use and children can take up to 40 pictures. It also comes with software that allows children to edit their own photos.

The Kids Zoom Digital Camera has a few features not usually found on kids cameras and are especially appealing to children. This digital camera has the ability to upload your child's picture onto a TV or PC to view as a slide show. This camera also comes with software that will allow your child to edit, delete and get creative with their pictures.

The Jazz Underwater Flash Digital Camera. This digital camera offers the most versatility as it can be used on land and in the water. It also shots video and it has flash capabilities for night time use. The pictures taken with this camera can also be seen on a PC.

Ages 9 to 12
The Kodak Optical Zoom is a great choice for older children. This camera is popular with older children because it has a zoom lens and a wider viewing screen and it has video recording capabilities. Although this camera is expensive, Kodak is known for it's name.

Owning a digital camera is a big responsibility for a child, make sure you do your homework and pick out a camera that is appropriate for your child. Purchasing a camera for your child can be a rewarding experience, now you can see the world through the eyes of your child. Giving a child another view to the world can open up many new possibilities.
