Poetry: Depression

Today crumbles into tomorrow
The shade falls away as the pendulum swings
Your loneliness creates your sorrow
So you seek the comfort that only death brings
With strands of time you weave your fate
Yet your fingers are uncertain
For how are you to ever create
When you've not met the man behind the curtain
Behind your eyes lies a land unknown
Untouched, even by thought

On the edge of the abyss, you stand alone
Convinced you've lost the battle you've fought
The silence is growing louder now
And you're thoughts are as destructive as ever
You feel it's time to take a bow
And leave this world forever
But somewhere from deep down within
Comes a feeling never felt
It surges through you again and again
There's love where previously only fear had dwelt
Your lips form into a smile
Though against your seeming will
You decide to bask in this warmth for a while
As you put down the pill
Your body is tingling and very light
Your thoughts are crystal clear
The room gets still and suddenly bright
As a dazzling figure comes near
The figure beckons for you to follow
And you do as you're instructed
This must be god in front of me
You anxiously deducted
It takes you to an unseen land
Which melts away your grief
A place so bright and full of love
It changes your belief
The figure began to express its love
And heal your heart which has long been broke
You knew now this was your god above
And then these words it spoke
You have not heard my calls to you
So I say it once again
I love you no matter what you do
You need not worry about your sin
With gratitude you leave his side
And return to your physical home
There's a new thought now that you can't hide
You are never ever alone.
