Why are polar bears disappearing? Polar bears are disappearing for the same reason that all the other species of bears are disappearing - human over-population, human over-consumption, resulting in global warming, which is caused by.... humans. Too dad-blasted-many humans, pure and simple.

Whether these humans live in Africa or India and burn cattle dung to cook their food, or in the US, where coal and methane and autos produce huge quantities of heat in larger amounts than the number of humans there would ordinarily predict, is irrelevant.

There are too many humans on the earth. Human beings have become a cancer in the biosphere of our Holy Mother, the Earth.

Until roughly the 1950's, the death rate pretty much equalled the birth rate of humans, world-wide. Then three things happened:

(1) WHO (the World Health Organization) got into things; got a ship, sailed the world, took all sorts of anti-biotics to people, interfered with the death rate. They took no birth-control or pregnancy-prevention methods to these people, just took them means to live - and suffer - longer. They made already horribly impoverished women into breeding machines more than they already were, without regard to what the climate there could support.

(2) Modern western medicine began to develop all sorts of 'magic machines' and procedure to save human lives - with no corresponding procedures or machines to keep the death rate equal to the new 'birth and living rate'. Heart disease stopped being the number one cause of death, at least in the western world.

(3) A change occurred in the majority culture's attitude to life and death; wherein 'death' became anathema and somehow 'bad', and 'life' - in terms of 'quantity of life' AND at any cost, but to hell with 'QUALITY of life' - began to be promoted as 'the only way' for humans to go.

In business and life, 'attitude is everything', it is said. It's true. If you think you can do a thing, YOU can. Not necessarily be 'the best', but you can do that thing if you make up your mind to do it, generally speaking. Similarly, if you think you cannot do a thing, you're right - YOU can't. But someone else can, and likely, will.

Unfortunately, no matter how the dedicatedly stupid of the world try to deny facts, the facts are - and will always be - EVERYTHING in the biosphere IS LIMITED. Moreover, THE BALANCE within the biosphere between hot and cold, rise and fall of this and that, IS ALWAYS CHANGING. Remember that - it's vitally important.
