The effects of climate change on society will be positive because society is the biggest factor in the whole equation . Most of the problems and changes we are seeing now are fueled by capitalistic greed for money without fully accessing the ramifications new technology has on our environment . Most multinationals want to spend the bare minimum on research and development in order to attain the best profits for the share holders .
The shift must surly be education on how we utilize the resources the planet so freely offers . We must move from carbon fuels to the alternatives without sending any of the worlds economy's bankrupt . Discussions and alternatives are now being thrashed about but actions speak louder than words and so far it's all words .
There is so much that can be achieved if we act in unison as citizens of the planet . Lets start actioning day to day energy savings instead of blaming the bigger players .Our response so far has been good in some area's but we all must walk the talk . We sadly have become a soft throw away society too apathetic to complain and too lazy to act .Therefore we must once again look for sound governance from our legislators.
Firstly lets look to nature and start replanting trees . Scandinavian Countries are prime examples of managing sustainable Forrest's while working in conjunction with productive farming .The problems with deforestation are well documented we need to start replanting now not when it's to late . So much land is farmed by subsidized farmers who are hanging on to history and the produce is better grown in more productive economies .Far from losing jobs we gain valuable manpower for areas of the economy that desperately need raw talent .
If we must persist with our fetish for oil we must also clean up the emissions . The oil companies need to finance research and help develop the contraptions to save our planet . We need to instigate change in a way that factors in all considerations .Firstly increasing the combustion efficiency and using gas as an alternative which is a far cleaner fuel .
Industry as with all the things where talking about needs to be looked at on a case by case basis . There is a huge question here with regards jobs at stake and costs of change . This is a global problem therefore team work and honest communication are paramount . The average person on the street is sick of being treated like a mushroom on this subject .Lets here it how it is without the usual political innuendo .
What practical steps need to be enforced in the home .There are to many to list here but the rule is, if it's what you want and not what you need start asking your self some questions like would I need my air-conditioner if the sea level rose 20 feet .Will I support companies that take measures in the hope that our grandchildren don't become deformed from swimming everywhere .Is it all about my laziness or are all the inhabitants on this beautiful planet not allowed a voice because they can't talk.
