Tips on confronting stress

Stress can occur from events associated with daily life, the workplace, and family responsibilities. Often Stress Occurs as a result of a traumatic accident, death, or emergency situation. Stress can also be a side effect of a serious illness or disease. It's hard to stay calm and relaxed in our hectic lives and as a result stress occurs and is something most all of us have to deal with sooner or later to some degree. When stress occurs regularly it can cause harm to body effecting us both emotionally and physically. If you're living with high levels of stress, you're putting your entire well-being at risk.

It is important to learn proper stress management techniques because if left untreated High levels of stress can lead to anxiety and Anxiety stress can trigger changes in our bodies and makes us more likely to get sick. It can also effect our sleeping habits and cause headaches, constipation, diarrhea, irritability, lack of energy, lack of concentration, eating too much or not at all, anger, sadness, higher risk of asthma and arthritis flare-ups, tension, stomach cramping, stomach bloating, skin problems, like hives, depression, anxiety, weight gain or loss, heart problems, high blood pressure, irritable bowel syndrome, diabetes, neck and/or back pain.

The goal of stress management is to bring your mind and body back into balance and achieve stress reduction so as to avoid health problems. Managing stress is all about taking charge: taking charge of your thoughts, your emotions, your schedule, your environment, and the way you deal with problems. And you can do this by adopting a positive attitude, learning healthier ways to cope. Changing the way you deal with stress can reduce its hold on your life.

Some of the key things are getting enough sleep, eating right, physical activity and making sure to RELAX!
Try to get seven to nine hours of sleep every night. Sleeping is a great way to help both your body and mind and its a very important step in stress management and stress anxiety reduction.. Without enough sleep your body not only can't fight off sicknesses the way it should but your stress could actually get worse.

Make sure that your energy is coming from the foods your eating, your body needs fruits, vegetables and proteins, not caffeine and sugar. If it comes from caffeine or sugar your energy will wear off fast. Good sources of protein can be found in peanut butter, chicken, eggs or tuna salad. You also need whole-grains, such as wheat breads and wheat
