For soon to be parent there are plenty of things on their shopping list they need and want for baby. Many times they will register with a baby registry at a local store like Target, Wal-Mart, Babies R Us or similar stores. This way it makes it easy to go ion the store and print out the list of items they choose and you can pick from one on there. * CLOTHING *

You can get a whole outfit for baby for under $20 at many stores. If you know the gender of the baby find something that is perfectly suitable for baby. If you do not know then you can choose an outfit that is neutral. You can also opt to buy items that will be needs like onsies, sleepers, bibs, socks, and similar items. Mom and dad will need lots and lots of clothes for baby when they are small since they tend to spit up and soil them quit often.

* TOYS *

There are plenty of toys that you can get for a new born for under $20. Stuffed animals and soft toys are great for baby so they do not get hurt. Find one that is colorful and soft to grab baby's attention. You can even buy a musical toy that can connect to the baby's crib to soothe them, or a mobile that hangs above the crib that has the same effect. My children loved the musical stuffed animals that were bright and colorful, and they played with them well into their toddler years.

* BOOKS *

It is never to soon to start gathering up a library for baby. It is known that children that are read to seem to strive better in school. When children are around books it encourages reading and it is a good thing to have with them for their entire life. You can choice one of your favorite childhood books and write on the front page that it is from you to personalize it. It also gives mom and dad a great incentive to start interacting with their baby and reading to them from day one. Books always make a great gift for children of all ages.

* BATH TOWEL AND WASHCLOTHS *

There are some hooded bath towel sets that re simply adorable. Mom and dad can bundle up baby nice and warm after bath time with one of these. Find one in a cute design that suits baby, if you do not know
