Getting started with selling on eBay

with a teaser rate. For an additional fee you can set a Reserve Price, which is the lowest price you will be willing to accept.

To determine the shipping charges there is a shipping calculator you can use to determine what it will cost to ship the item. This will be added to the final sales price to determine what your buyer will pay. Buyers pay for shipping.

Now you'll be guided to the How You'd Like To Be Paid form. Since you've already signed up for Pay Pal, this will automatically appear on the form. The fee to insert your item is also shown on this panel. Click on the question mark to see how the fee was determined. Click Save and Preview.

You'll be shown how your ad will appear on the site. If you agree, click List Your Item.

EBay is very user friendly. There are many tutorials available on all topics and contain answers to questions you may have.

There are a couple of things I have learned through trial and error that I want to make you aware of. On one item I listed I forgot to change the pre-set $.99 box, and ended up selling a lighted beer sign for only $.99. That one won't happen again. Also, if you sell multiple items to the same buyer, combine the two to determine a more favorable postal rate. I hadn't had this type of transaction until recently,so I never even thought about it. The buyer asked about it. I refigured the postage after checking with the post office, and it was lower.

Enjoy your experience with EBay. And good luck.
