Effects of climate change on society and the environment

Title endorsed in part by:

I think the fact that we will be living in a third world country by the time this is all said and done is a positive thing. It will give us plenty of fuel to run around being the world's martyrs, pointing accusing fingers of shame at China and India. Then they will have to live and deal with the reality of the fact that all the warming is entirely THEIR fault, instead of ours. After all, let's face facts and admit that the chances of any of this actually doing anything to reverse the climate change are currently (possibly universally) extraordinarily slim, anyway.

Which brings me to the second part of this urgent plea of mine. We've got to do more to save the world. All of us have got to buckle down and really dig in and shoulder part of this cumbersome load. To be honest, I'm a little disappointed in even the very greenest and most prominent of advocates vocalizing this need we share to avert a crisis. I'm disappointed because, quite frankly, there are a great deal more examples of ways that the entire population can do their part to save us all than anyone is talking about, or even mentioning. Shame on them (all except Sir St. Al Gore, of course)! So I've taken it upon myself to do some research and provide a short list of the most necessary or easily-accomplished action items for us, as a globally-conscientious people. This way we can all do our part to work toward not only reducing our personal and collective carbon footprint, but also attacking the issue from a couple other fronts which I've personally discovered.

First of all, I know it's going to be hard (the US government tried it once before and not only failed miserably, but furthermore, turned two-bit crooks like Al Capone into millionaire kingpins practically overnight, gave organized crime and police corruption a foothold in the country that had been previously nonexistent-and still has yet to be destroyed even to this very day, and generally caused mayhem throughout the country), but we're going to have to ban the fermentation of sugars into ethyl alcohol. (So I suppose you can stop planting all that corn...not that ethanol was ever an even remotely viable option, anyway.) The process of fermentation for all drinks-from beer to wine to cider and even hard liquors which, once fermented, simply go through an additional process of distillation in order to remove a great deal of the non-alcoholic constituents-consists of three basic elements: some type of sugar that can be broken down and metabolized
