Chores should be assigned at an age appropriate level. Young children can help set the table, sweep the floor, pick up their toys and clean their rooms. Older children should vacuum, help wash and load the dishwasher. They can also help separate, sort and fold laundry, and wash cars. As children become teenagers, they can help cook meals, clean bathrooms and take care of the yard by mowing the lawn and weeding flower beds.
