these toys because of "Drug crime." It's not "Drug crime." It's drug-war crime.
Gang violence occurs mostly from the protection of markets. Were all drugs relegalized, regulated and controlled above ground, the need for these gangs to protect their territories with violence would end. The cops would have to learn how to control crime using their hearts and minds, not their firepower.
Unless, of course, the goal of government, using law enforcement and prison industries, is to control the population's every move and thought. This is a very distinct possibility. With the influence of businesses and their unbridled greed, a goal of total domination of the population is, to them, good business.
Sooner or later all of these industries will need to revamp. Pharma can't continue to market drugs with serious side effects. Petro will have to find another source of raw material as we will eventually run out of usable petroleum. The private prison, drug testing and other industries of their ilk can go to hell.
In a capitalist society, I don't think anyone wants to see an entire industry collapse. That collapse is not necessary from a dollars and cents point of view. Surely the "Captains" of industry must realize this. Therefore, the idea of total domination of the American public through prohibition of Cannabis and other illegal substances must be the case. This is far more dangerous to our health and prosperity than any collapse of any industry.
