First of all to know the benefits of a babysitting co-op you must first understand what it is. A babysitting co-op is when a group of families in a community get together and trade off babysitting for each other without the exchange of money. It is a great way to get to know your neighbors and allow each other some time alone to go out or even work and not have to worry about paying.

The members in the babysitting co-op get together and make the rules together about babysitting, and work out an arrangements among themselves for when they need a babysitter. Most of the time a babysitting co-op or sometimes called babysitting club, is not for everyday childcare.

To maintain that the rules are fair to everyone they often keep a chart available to see when and how often which family you are babysitting for. This way it is fair and no one is able to take advantage of the system. The chart is marked with the family that is being babysat for and the family that is doing the babysitting.

The closer you are to your neighbors the more secure you can feel in your own home. The chances of a friendly neighbor watching out for your home when you are not around is much higher then when you are not friends. Babysitting co-ops save you a lot of money and it is a great benefit to the families in your community.
