Presidential Elections 2008

Senator McCain: Not my choice for president

I began reading the available material on John McCain weeks ago to determine if he were a worthwhile candidate for President of the United States. I have been looking for a candidate that is a representative of the people. When you're finished rolling around on the floor holding your sides, I will give you my views on this research.

Senator McCain claims to "tell the truth even when it's not what they want to hear." In Michigan the Senator told the under employed people of that state "the automotive manufacturing jobs are not coming back". He should have included in that statement, - I have seen to that. On the website www.issues2000.org the following record appeared under the heading (John McCain on Corporations). "Voted NO on repealing tax subsidy for companies which move US jobs offshore. (Mar 2005)." This is another truth that the voters of Michigan did not want to hear and in this case the good senator was more sensitive. On the same website under principles and values Senator McCain is quoted as saying: "We need moral courage to be honest all the time." (Apr 2004) Very true Senator.

Being a veteran that has been put out of work by illegal workers more than once, I found the following statement by McCain nauseating. "I am not going to be the one to tell a soldier serving in Iraq that his mother is being deported". What a crock! Trying to hide behind our military personnel to ward off being exposed as an open borders liberal I find particularly disgusting. It reminds me of a cockroach scurrying for cover when you turn on the light. How many soldiers does he know of whose mothers are being deported? He seems to have less difficulty telling returning veterans that they may not have jobs due to the illegal workers he represents. I'm still waiting for him to take credit for the Mexican national who killed one of his fellow marines and then ran back to Mexico.

In his book Why Courage Matters McCain uses the old quote "just government is derived from the consent of the governed." In 1998 McCain promoted immigrant qualification for social programs. The increase of federal aid to states with more immigrants for medical and social services. The blocking of state laws that denies these services to Illegal workers, Also an increase in computer scientists and information technology workers allowed into the U.S. One might wonder, if there is such a need for these workers, why they need federal aid. Well, do you governed folk consent'
