George Bush does not possess any discernable qualities that make him an able commander of anything, let alone the most powerful military force on the planet.

His most overwhelming trait as President has been his stubbornness. War is far from a predictable endeavor. In an undertaking where even the best laid plans can go awry, his are almost certain to. America needs a leader who will put the well being of its troops above the pride of its leaders. Staying the course is simply not a brilliant maneuver when the course leads to a dead end. This has been evident throughout the current military campaign in Iraq. While most of America screams out loud in disapproval, George somehow manages to shove his fingers in his ears and hum "hail to the chief" as loud as he can.

Further more, he has nothing resembling combat experience. During Vietnam, he spent his time in the Texas Air National Guard, keeping a diligent eye on the skies over Texas. Surprisingly, he saw no combat. Now he blindly orders the brave men and women of this great country into battle. He sends sons and daughters, kids barely out of high school, to risk their lives for reasons they don't understand, when he has no concept of what it is he is asking them to do.

Even if he had served in a combat situation, military action is not a simple task. It takes meticulous planning, cunning tactics, and a deep understanding of the enemy. I find it hard to believe that Bush could handle himself through an entire game of Risk. Watching one speech given by our President should be enough to take him out of the running in the mind of any remotely educated human being, sometimes regardless of whether or not they even speak the English language. The man doesn't understand what a gynecologist does (some may recall his hope for their freedom practice their love across the country) and he's supposed to orchestrate a large scale attack on an entire country? I know some may argue that he is a well educated man, and he didn't get where he is for no reason, but I refuse to believe that if his father had not been President he would have made it all the way to Capitol Hill all on his own. I picture him as more of a fast food manager, or maybe a truck driver.

At any given time, I'm sure there a much better suited candidate within one hundred feet of this man.
