fans who have attended Miwa's shows have even posted live footage of her performances on youtube.com, but she confesses, "I can only deal with recordings of my songs. As far as live footage, unfortunately I can't look at myself because I always think I'm so fat! I know it's ridiculous but unfortunately that's the first thing that comes to my head."

People who are born in the sign of Gemini like Prince and Miwa, hence the moniker Miwa Gemini, are often attracted to the visual medium and Miwa has a strong background in photography. She posts many of her findings of amazing photographers on her website. She also has a strong background in visual art and designs the album covers and artwork for her own material. She muses about her aspirations for her artwork, "It will be nice to be able to publish a picture book one day, maybe a children's book."

But for now, her focus is on her music. She tells that listening to other musician's material inspires her as she mentions, "I've been listening to Django Reinhardt a lot and Yves Montand." She relates to these musicians and shares in their joy of creating songs, and vows about making music, "It makes me happy and keeps me sane, and if I can make my audience happy that's really wonderful."

Like the musicians who have inspired her to indulge her desires in songwriting, Miwa hopes to inspire a musician in others. She encourages people to pick up an instrument and start playing music. "Do it," she exclaims. "It will broaden your world. When you are playing, make sure that you put all your heart into it and make sure your heart will be light. Have fun!"

Like the girl in the red dress and cowboy boots on her album covers, Miwa too is always ready for a new adventure as she saddles up with her friend who resides in the porcelain cat beside her. Life was always something that Miwa was thrilled about experiencing, and wishing to ride with the wind was one of her biggest dreams. Although she likes traveling on the wings of the wind to new places, she likes being settled in New York City too. She affirms, "I love traveling all over the place but still home is New York City."
