Good workouts for blasting bellyfat

Unsightly belly fat - it is a problem that just about anyone who is unhappy with their body will list as one of their primary concerns. Everywhere you look, there is a new fad diet or a pill that has not been approved by the FDA with a stated purpose of getting rid of belly fat. Unfortunately, most of them don't work. Getting rid of bellyfat is not easy and there are few exercises that specifically target the midsection effectively, but through a combination of diet and choice exercises, you can eliminate that pesky stomach fat.

The basic crunch or sit-up is an effective time-tested exercise that is great for toning the abdomen. To perform a crunch, lie flat on your back and bend your knees inward until your feet are flat on the floor. Try to put your feet under a stable surface like a couch or a bureau, or have someone hold them down for you; this is done to keep your lower body stable during the exercise.

The bicycle exercise is a great workout for the abs and the only equipment it requires is a floor. To perform the bicycle exercise, begin by lying flat on your back and lifting your legs slightly off the floor. Bend your knees inward until your body is in a sitting position and lift your shoulders off the floor. Then begin moving your legs in a pedaling motion - extend one leg straight out, then retract it back to its starting position. While one leg is extending, your other leg should be retracting. With each leg extension, use your core to lift your shoulder toward its opposite leg; use your left shoulder for your right leg and use your right shoulder for your left leg.

As you go through the day, one simple exercise you can do is to suck in your gut. When you clench your abdominal muscles, you are burning some calories. Do this while you walk, and over the course of a day, you will have performed a mini-workout that is focused on the belly area without having done any hard work. One of the major benefits of this is that since it is such a low-impact activity, it is focused exclusively on burning calories and toning muscle - it does not have enough impact to facilitate muscle growth. So, it will shrink your gut without putting anything else in its place.

Along with exercise, you will need to have at least a relatively healthy diet. Perhaps the most important step you can take to improve your diet is to avoid those awful trans fats. Trans fats, unlike any other type of fat, are completely useless to the body - they have absolutely no nutritional qualities of any sort. The only things that trans fats are responsible for are health problems and bad weight gain. They are most prominently found in greasy fast foods, though recently, many measures have been taken to reduce their prevalence. Nonetheless, when you're not sure if a fast food joint is using ingredients that include trans fats, just avoid the place altogether.

Losing belly fat never seems easy, but it is not impossible. It takes an effort and it will not happen over night - you will need to understand this and be patient as weight loss is always a process. But by adding these abdominal exercises to your daily routine and by making your diet healthier, you will be able to burn belly fat.
