Matching shoe type to different styles of jeans

Matching your shoes with a good jean fit can be confusing and can take time in the morning when you should really be eating breakfast instead of changing your pants. There are many different fits of jeans and even more kinds of shoes out there, and this concise guide will help you get those new jeans fall just right on you new shoes.

Slim and tight fitting jeans always look great with any type of thin shoe, whether a slip-on or a slim high top. Any kind of very thin canvas shoe goes great with a slim fitting jean, no matter the color. Any type of shoe that you can easily feel your foot on the other side of the material will look great with a narrow jean. Running shoes such as Reeboks, or New Balance also look great with a slim jean because running shoes tend to have many details that should be seen. Also most low-top skateboard shoes will look good as long as the jean is not too tight.

A regular straight fit is the essential jean that pretty much everyone should have in his or her closet. This is the most common fit in stores, and can go with almost any shoe from running shoes to canvas to walking shoes. They fall well on all low-top walking shoes such as Air Force Ones, Super Stars, Reebok Classics or any other shoe like this. Also thin shoes will look good as long as you don't let the back of your jeans drag, because that will not only ruin the tail end of your jeans, but can look sloppy.

Baggy jeans fall especially nicely on basketball shoes and larger high-tops. They tend to cover the shoe nicely, and the cuff size will always accent the size of the shoe. Baggy jeans can also look good with low tops, however you should pull the tongue up and in front of the jean. Boots also go much better with jeans that have a larger cuff size compared to skinnier jeans.

Relaxed fit jeans, although not as popular a cut, can go great with low-tops without much effort. as the fit suggests, its the easiest option for any shoe or personality.

There may be many fits, many colors and many widths of jeans, and many types of shoes, but you can always find the right jean for the right shoe. With these guidelines you won't ever have to spend time fixing your jeans again.
