How to successfully sell your product

cards, if someone comes in to buy from me, please jot your name on the card as the referring person and you'll get $50 bucks in the mail!.... easy money eh?" or "I need you to fill out this questionnaire... if you can think of anyone that may love to know about our free offer..." etc etc.....

Referrals are the lifeblood of your business because they help generate new prospects. Although you will need the support of marketing and advertising to have enough prospects to stay in business, there is no advertising in the world as fabulous as word of mouth.

You become a good salesperson by paying attention to the little things such as courtesy, and keeping your promises (If you say you're going to call a prospect back then call them back on-time...), you need to attend any sales training you can get and pay attention when you get there.

Read books on selling and relationship management and maintenance. Because selling is all about relationships and gaining other peoples trust.

Okay, so here's a quick re-cap of what it takes to become a good salesperson: You need to prospect, sell, close, follow-up and ask for referrals. You need to have several people in various stages of the sales process everyday and you need to be organized enough to keep track of your appointments and promises. Oh, and make sure you show up for all the sales training meetings and seminars you can get into.

If you do this consistently, then after a while, you'll be much more that a good salesperson, you'll be one of the best!
