Unfortunately, infidelity is a huge problem and one with which most of us can identify. At some point or another, most of us have been cheated on. What are the signs?

Avoidance

If your boyfriend or girlfriend starts to avoid you by not answering your phone calls, there is cause for suspicion. Also, are there times where their whereabouts is unaccounted for? If you're truly suspicious, ask them where they're going when they say they can't see you and go to that location to see if they truly are where they said they would be. If so, are they with anyone?

Change in Work Schedule

Is your boyfriend or girlfriend working more hours than usual? Is this a sudden change? If so, there may be cause for concern. You could try one of two things in this case. You can offer to meet them there after and bring them some dinner. See what their reaction is. The other thing you can do, and I would recommend it, is to stop by their place of work when they're suppose to be working overtime. Are they at work?

Their Cell Phone

Is your boyfriend or girlfriend all of a sudden not answering their phone when you're around? If so, you can try the direct approach and ask them why they won't answer it. Don't be accusatory when you ask, but listen closely to the nature of the response. So they appear nervous?

Criticism

How has your partner's demeanor been lately? Have they found more fault with you or been criticizing you a lot lately? This can be a sign of infidelity because he or she may be trying to justify their cheating ways to themselves.

Possessiveness

Sometimes a cheating mate can become increasingly possessive or suspicious of your behaviors. He or she may accuse you of cheating or tell you that they think you might be cheating. They may try to check up on you more. Why would they do this if they are the ones that are cheating? It's simple. It's guilt. Rather, it's a "cover" for their guilt. Subconsciously, they're thinking that if they blame you, then you won't suspect them. Also, if they fool themselves into thinking that you may be cheating on them, it gives them a justification in their mind that it's okay to cheat on you.

Changes in Grooming Habits

Take notice of your partner's grooming habits. Do they shower more frequently? Are they taking better care of their appearance? Are they dressing up more or are they suddenly wearing cologne or perfume? This could be a cheating sign.

Sex Drive/ Sex Behaviors

Is there a change in the sex drive of your partner? This could be an increase or a decrease in sex drive. Some cheaters will want sex more probably due to guilt. Ironically, some cheaters won't want sex as much for the same reason. Also, is your partner behaving differently or doing different things in the bedroom that they didn't use to do? They may have picked up these behaviors from somewhere else.

Your Gut

Lastly, trust your intuition. What does your gut tell you? Are you just being too paranoid or is there a real cause for concern? Most times when our gut tells us something, it's very accurate.
