Cheating: Is it gender biased?
A lot of people believe that men are more prone to cheating on their companion due to the fact that men are supposed to want to "sew their wild oats" however, this is more of a myth than fact. Like many things in life that label people into categories, it doesn't necessarily apply to individuals and if it does it's due to a life experience that traumatized them.
On Helium, there are articles about how women are just as prone to cheat on their companion as men however, the problem about their articles is that they are still basing cheating on a companion on gender.
Some people may feel that one gender cheats more than the other because either their companions have cheated on them or they are the ones who cheat on their companions but the question that should be asked to these individuals is: Why? Why are they cheating on their companion(s).
There are infinite amount of reasons as to why people cheat on their companions however, there are a couple of general reasons such as:
1. They are commitment phobia
2. They can't make up their mind as to whom they want to be with
3. They have a wandering eye
4. They have personal issues and take it out on the relationship - making it a destructive relationship
What it boils down to about why people cheat on each other is simple: They haven't found their soulmate.
Although that sounds rather crude - it is the truth. If people found their soulmate then they wouldn't be unfaithful. Somep people don't believe in that sort of thing but that's only because they've either let the person go and they're bitter about it or they just haven't found their soulmate.
Some people aren't in tuned with themselves and the world around them which makes it even more difficult to find your soulmate or to recognize them when they do come across them, but it really does exist.
If they can be in a romantic sense - a soulmate (i.e. they aren't blood related or your dog, cat, etc) then a feeling of "This is the one" will immediate. It's an intense feeling of having the wind knocked out of you and it's the biggest thrill of ones life. It's an instant feeling of knowing that you can't live your life without them.
That is the real reason as to why people are unfaithful - once they find their soulmate and can be romantically involved with them, then the feeling of wanting to be with someone else will most likely go away.
"Most likely" is stressed because again, some people are just so out of tune with the world and themselves that they might still try to be unfaithful but the love between soulmates is unconditional and even though the road will be tough, sometimes tougher than any other romantic relationship one has ever had, the passion and intensity is so worth it.
How does one find their soulmate? Be open to the world, don't seek them out, if it's meant to be then soulmates will find each other.
