Do I look OK? How's my hair? Does my bum look big in this? These are the questions that so many women all over the world pester themselves with day in day out. Personally I believe it is due to the world's sheer obsession with celebrities.
It's like a game in which we compete to try and live up to this celebrity status, which in some cases can be drastic, we are constantly hearing about eating disorders on television and how young girls are looking up to these painfully thin celebs as role models.
Every day we go into our local stores to be faced by shelf upon shelf of celebrity gossip magazines, and what do we do? We buy them. Yes, if we are honest we are all guilty of buying the magazine with the "loose two stone in two weeks" cover story or the "Celebs with Cellulite" on the front page.
One of the most common pieces in a lot of magazines is the "Ring of Truth" - this is usually a set of photographs showing celebrities at their not so best, maybe there will be a huge red circle around their legs to show how they haven't waxed or around their head because they are wearing no make-up. I think some women find it comforting to see them like this, as it does make a change from the perfectly airbrushed images we are so often used to seeing, but at the end of the day they are only human just like you and me and just because they have stylists and personal trainers at their beck and call doesn't mean we all can't look as Fabulous as they do!
So, how do we achieve an extreme makeover?
Appearance and looks are very important for first impressions, and as the world we live in today is somewhat obsessed with the way people look, first impressions count for a lot.
There are all kinds of shows on television today that look in depth at extreme makeovers whether it be your house, body or lifestyle and these programs are a great starting point for tips and inspiration especially if you are looking to change the way you look and feel about yourself.
So first things first, you need to figure out what you do and don't want to change about yourself because let's face it we all have bits on our bodies that we would prefer we didn't have, on the other hand we also have bits that we don't mind!
Once you have established what you would like to change you can begin to proceed with your makeover and look forward to the final result remembering that it is not a game - you are doing this for yourself.
Think of how exciting it will be once your make over is complete and you can look at the before
