Stop being selfish! We have our children and then at age 5 to 18 we pawn them off to the Public School system and go on with our selfish, pathetic me, me, me attitude. We brought these wonderful little lives into this world. Now take care of them. Our children are our most precious gifts. They all are different in so many ways. So we must teach them each as individual. They all learn in different ways as well. Some are book smart and some are hands on smart. I know this from experience.
I have 3 and they are so different. I also have 4 grandkid who are all different. I am raising 2 of them in my home with their dad and my husband. My son went through a bad custody battle and won custody. But to get through the battle the kids had to go see a therapist. The said they were ADHD and needed to be on medication. So we tried it even though this is not what we felt was good.
Since then because of the NO KID LEFT BEHIND most kids are being passed through grades like sheep to the slaughter. Once he got custody we began looking into all the meds and the schools. Our government is so liberal at giving our meds too freely. For what? To calm them down and pay attention. Then try and find other ways to teach these children to listen. Don't take away their time to get up and move around. Don't turn around and have a NO DRUG WEEK and expect them to understand. It is a money and numbers game. Is this what we want our kids to be? No! So I did what any loving and caring grandmother would do.
I got them out of public schools and off meds. We as their parents and grandparents took back the responsibility of caring and raising and teaching our next generation of adults. Now I know this is not the best for some, but for me, it is. Home Schooling!
I have always been an at home mom. We made the income from my husband work. We do not try to keep up with the Jones. There are needs and wants. Learn the difference. Then teach this by example to your children.
I tried when mine were young to work also and all my money went to someone else to care for my kids. Wake-up people. It is my job not someone I don't even know. So if I do not want a stranger to care for my kid, why would I want someone else to teach them math, reading, writing or anything else. What I can not teach, there is always someone in the family that can. So they are being given a whole lot of teachers. We can work with each child according to their own pace without feeling left behind. They have other programs that they do such as 4-H and our church. We live on a farm to help with food and meat. For us, not to provide for everyone else. They get that hands on teaching as well as learning to care for others. This teaches responsibility as well. No more sitting for 3 hours at a desk. Our kids need to move around and keep the blood flowing. They need the chance to talk and be listened to. How can a teacher with 25-35 students be able to give such attention to each and every student. YOU CAN NOT. So who is being left out? TOO MANY! Yours could be one of these. Is this what you want? Think about it! Take care of what God has given you. Be responsible and get alot of good support and be unselfish.
