Stars:
Do stars cry in the middle of the star-lit night
about life, death and the loneliness of light?
Are they sentient and sensitive to the screams of the void
within which they swim upon gravity buoyed?
Are they proud of their magnitude, their velocity and hue
as they peer down at vacuum from which particles spew?
Can they see the dimensions invisible to those
who don't have the energy to see beyond their nose?
Are they scared of the holes as black as death
which actually exhale the faintest of breath?
Do they play upon the dust of newborns
and sing along to the chorus of the new dawn?
Oh, why stars can't you share your memories, your thoughts, and your views
with us mere mortals who would love to hear your news?
So, don't you stars cry to the universe for feeling alone
and spare a thought for us humans, for it's all we've ever known!
