What is your criteria for determining if a man has dating potential? Is it his looks? His bank balance? His personality?
Women will differ when answering that question depending on their own mental image of the "perfect" man. Dating a person is not a commitment for life, so even if disappointment results, a woman can move on.

What are the things that qualify a man as dating potential?

1. Is he available? You may find a man who appears to be your idea of a dream date, but if he is not available, the dream ends. He may be in a relationship already or even be married. Leave him alone and move on. Pursuing a date with this man can only lead to tears.

2. Is he handsome? How a person looks on the surface means a lot to some women and is inconsequential to others. As long as he is handsome enough in your eyes, that's all that counts. You're dating for you, not for someone else.

3. Is he clean? Personal hygiene is a big issue when dating someone as the date could lead to a long term relationship or even marriage. If a man does not care for himself in this way, he probably wouldn't be considered dating material. Would you want to date a man who had severe body odor, bad breath and an unkempt look?

4. Does he have a sense of humor? This is a quality you will find listed in most dating agency listings when women seek men. A sense of humor is an endearing quality and usually guarantees that your date will be a pleasurable experience.

5. Does he have a good personality? The personality of your potential date is probably the most important consideration. More important than looks, wealth or dress sense. Personality is what you will fall in love with eventually, not the external things you see in a man. A good personality will include pleasing qualities that will have you hoping for a second date.

The criteria you consider most important will ultimately determine the kind of man you choose to date and perhaps the man you decide to spend your life with. You will never find the "perfect" man because they simply don't exist. But you can find the next best thing, a man who is your ideal dating partner.
