Multi Oscar winner Martin Scorsese was born 17 November 1942, Queens, New York. After toughing out his teenage years in a rough naughbouhood in the Bronx Scorsese devoted his efforts to film, working towards a Film Major in NYU.

In the 1970's Martin Scorsese brought his talent to the film making world astonishing all with his adaption of the multi award winning film 'Mean Streets'(1973). A film of true passion, the crime was real, toughing it out in a small neighbourhood in New York's Little Italy. Scorsese brought a new way of life for Directing, much like Speilberg, he was different, he didn't follow other directional skills he just made his own, a revolution for directing, an inspiration for all. Scorsese was able to rise through the ranks quickly, a producer named Roger Corman caught the talent of Scorsese, later on forming a bond Scorsese Directed some of his films.

After 'mean Streets' came the multi award winning 'Taxi Driver' (1976). The film became a hit instantly, nominated for four Oscar's and winning over fifteen awards, the film was and still is in the history books. After an array of succesfull films Scorsese wasnt only a recognisable character within the film world, he was becoming a legend. After the hit's with 'Mean Streets' and 'Taxi Driver' came 'GoodFellas' (1990), 'Cape Fear' (1991) and 'Casino' (1995). The three films were heavily loved by the public and a vast amount of critics, 'GoodFellas' and 'Casino' brought a new edge to the 'Crime' genre, both mentioned to be as good if not better as 'The Godfarther', which again like 'Mean Streets', 'Taxi Driver', 'Cape Fear', 'GoodFellas' and 'Casino' all starred Robert Da Niro.

Not only was Scorsese Directing memorable and legendary films, he also crewed in films, produced films, wrote films, edited films, and unknown to most he's also an actor. Scorsese could practically participate if not make a film entirly on his own. The multi talented American first started his career after graduating from NYU as a film major in 1964. After that and ever since all he has done is make brilliant, insparational films for all, if not the best Director in the world or of all time, Martin Scorsese will always be a name mentioned in the film world forever.
