The dangers of diet pills

The dangers of diet pills should be common knowledge these days. Diet pills have been in the news more often than not, yet people still take them. I suppose it's not that surprising though. Cigarettes have been known for sometime now to be associated with several serious illnesses, yet they're still going strong.

Diet pills can mess up your body's metabolism so bad it may never be the same again. They're loaded with caffeine and other harmful things that can make you high as a kite and many of them are habit forming. You go from having an eating problem to a drug AND a eating problem. There have been several dieters who have gone on diet pills and testified that the pills worked for a while but then became totally ineffective at curbing their appetite. But by that time, they were hooked on the pills.

The problem associated with any drug is that you start taking them to feel good then you end up taking them to keep from feeling bad. That's the trap. Your body gets accustomed to the feeling that the diet pills give you and when they begin to wear off, you get to where you don't like the way you feel. You had no problem with the way you felt before you started taking the pills so they not only mess up your body, they also mess up your mind.

The list of side effects associated with diet pills boggles the mind. The warnings from physicians and on the news about diet pills are all over the place and it's hard to believe they're still being distributed as freely as they are.

The scriptures in the bible tell about drugs in the latter days. Drug abuse began to excel around the 50's and has steadily climbed through the years. Jesus Christ Himself warned us about these things and most us have ignored the Savior's warnings for far too long. So why beat your head against the bricks?

Therefore, if you are considering diet pills, please reconsider. There has got to be a safer way for you to lose weight. I'm sure you've tried everything under the sun, but many have said the same thing then out of the blue they discovered something that worked for them. We're all different and what works for one, may not work for another.

Keep looking for a natural way to lose weight. Don't do that to yourself because you'll only heap one problem on top of another. Talk to your doctor about your weight problem. The doctor can prescribe safer methods for losing weight like pills that help absorb fat or pills that swell up to make you feel full.

There has to be a better way. At least right now you're happy some of the time. You start taking diet pills and you may never be happy again without them.
