When it comes to the office around the holidays, food will get you far. There's a vast amount of things you can bring or make, healthy ones too, and they won't break the bank.
1. Grains Pretzel and crackers are always a good bet. You could also add something with it such as cheese or a fruit spread. Bread and oil is another choice. You can't go wrong with some Italian or French Bread and Pita Bread with seasoned Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
2. Fruits and Vegetables Platters are an excellent idea, and you can make it at home for a fraction of the cost of purchasing one at the grocery store. You can also add cheese, peanut butter or salad dressing to dip in.
3. Meats Deli platters can also be made from home for less. Deli meat from the local grocery store and some other fixings and you are on your way. If you more of a cook, you could make some meatballs in a slow cooker and bring it in to work with you the next day, plug it in and your co-workers will have a warm snack all day.
4. Dairy There are many ways to fit dairy in the picture as well. Any platter with cheese will cover that. Deviled Eggs are also another choice when it comes to dairy products.
5. Sweets Where does it end? You can really do anything here. Chocolate is always a safe bet. Bake some brownies, enough for the entire office, add nuts to some or M & M's to some others, leaving some plain. A tin of hard candy, especially good if you have a bunch of smokers in the office.
For non food items, that also won't cost much, there are quite of few options as well. Coffee mugs with something preprinted or something custom made on it. You can even include some candy or chocolate inside as a treat. A small plant for their desk is another good idea, providing that your desks are large enough. If not you can get a few a little larger and place them around the office. Just remember to water them.
Don't be afraid to do it at home either. It doesn't have to cost a lot to be appreciated. But if you just don't have the time like most of us, you can pick up just about all of this premade. Ideas are endless. Have some fun with it and be creative.
