Poetry: A lasting love

by Frankie Sunflower

Created on: January 29, 2008

We are the sunbeams of the sun
We are two but we are one
We are one but we are three
We are you and we are me
We can fly and never land
We are the sea, we are the sand
We are bound and we are free
We are you and we are me
We are tender, we are lost
We are harmlessly besotted
We are a broken, sobbing plea
Are we you or are we me?
Can we well and truly be?
I am searching i remember
When we were summer in December
Standing shaded by our tree
That was you and that was me
Like the sunbeams from the sun
Sharing jokes and stupid puns
We could hear without our ears
We could laugh our way through tears
Are we you or are we me?
Who do we have to be?
Or can we simply be?
Being you and being me.
